A free trade zone in the middle of Natal!

Natal has been promised a free trade zone if they build adequate infrastructure in connection with the airport.
The purpose of this law was to be more competitive against low cost countries in East and especially China.
This will encourage more industry and more jobs.
This has already been financed. At the completion of the airport, they will then be eligible to receive the free trade zone.
It is predicted that approximately 300 000 people will be working within the free trade zone.

About the Airport

The airport will be a combined cargo and passenger airport.
The new airport will be the biggest airport in South America and one of the biggest Cargo airports in the world.
It will serve as a HUB for international air travel to and from Brazil.
The airport will be the main hub for traffic to and from the United States.

Natal's geographic location in relation to the distances from North America Europe and Africa is very beneficial
The airport situation is very favorable for air travel both in regards to weather and topography.

The airport is located 1.1 miles in the overhead lines from the beach in Natal. From the outskirts of Natal, it is only about 5 km in overhead lines to the airport.We believe that the airport will be be a part of Natal life within a few years.

The airport will be able to accommodate Airbus A380, the worlds largest cargo and passenger airplane. This puts Natal in a unique position since they can handle planes with up to 800 passengers.
There will be room for 154 Airbus A380 on completion!

In Brazil this is known as an export processing Zone - ZPE or SPA.
This is an area with limited intervention from the authorities.
Generally, this is a special customs area with favorable customs laws or a total absence of this.

Many airports today have taxfree areas inside the terminals for international traffic. This is actually a "mini free trade zone"
The authorities have decided that the Northeast Brazil (Natal), and the development of the Amazon is to be strengthened and one of the instruments for this is to introduce free trade zones.
It was adopted by a new law on 4 June 2008 which gives authorities the opportunity to grant new free trade zones in Brazil.
The reason for this is to strengthen the industry in Brazil and increase competition with other countries.
This will make the sites within this zone is highly sought after!

There are only one free trade zone in Brazil today.
Several of the largest global companies have factories there.
It was produced goods for U.S. $ 81,642,639,000 in 2005.

Here are some of the companies that produce goods in the free trade zone;

Sony, Samsung, LG, Nokia, Siemens, Harley Davidson and other vehicle manufacturers.
